How Do You Know It’s Time to Outsource Social Media Management?

Can you guess what one of the biggest reasons our clients come to us for social media marketing services is?...

The biggest reason is lack of time! So many business owners are overwhelmed by the thought of keeping up with social media on top of managing their business. I mean, let’s face it, social media is not usually every business owner’s number one priority. Yet, they see their competitors posting consistently, growing on social media, and they want to get those same results.

The story usually goes like this…

The business owner (let’s call her Sally) really hasn’t thought too much about marketing. She has business cards and a website she hasn’t touched since it was created 5 years ago. Other than that, she hasn't done that much to market her business. She is interested in doing more to market her business, but doesn’t really know where to start. She gets lunch with a friend they’re just chatting about life when her friend starts talking her ear off about how she keeps seeing people in Sally’s industry doing so well on social media. She tells her all about how she needs to get out there! “It’s time you start an Instagram account! I keep seeing businesses like yours on social media and I think you really should start one!” her friend tells her. At first she doesn’t think much about it. Then, she starts digging a bit and sees many of her main competitors active on social media. “I can totally do this!” Sally thinks. So, the next day she creates an account on instagram. She follows a couple hundred or even a couple thousand accounts that inspire her. She’s posting every day, creating reels, excited about the idea of marketing her business on social media. She even gains a few followers and hears positive feedback from her friends.

Then one day, she wakes up and just doesn’t feel like posting. Instead, she gets on Instagram and starts scrolling. She sees an account for a business similar to her’s, opens the account’s feed and sees that it has 24k followers! She starts to feel insecure about everything she’s already posted. The content she’s been sharing doesn’t look anything like this other account's content. So she becomes even more discouraged. She hasn’t posted in weeks and now it feels like every day that goes by that she hasn’t posted, the more difficult it gets to start back up again.

Then comes the breakthrough…

Finally, she decides enough is enough! She wants to be consistent on social media and time is money right? So, she decides to hire her 14 year old niece. Sally is thrilled that she can hand this task off. Her niece is always on TikTok and Instagram and she seems so tech savvy, it’s perfect! Then, Sally’s niece grows out of it. Not even a month passes and she is apparently not “into” social media anymore.

Sally is back to square one, managing her social media on her own. Although it’s worse now because she’s even more busy with work! Her business has been taking off and the little time she had to spend on social media before, has been reduced to none. She's now on Instagram, Tiktok, Pinterest, and feels that she’s more stretched thin than ever. Then it happens! She finds a Social Media Marketing Agency that she loves! She looks through their socials and sees they’re practicing what they’re preaching! They’re posting consistently and really seem to know what they’re talking about. She hops on a discovery call and they answer all of her questions perfectly. Hoping it’s not too good to be true she asks for a proposal. She receives one within the day. Sally agrees to work with them and is so ecstatic that she finally found a professional, real agency to take this weight off of her shoulders. Now, she’s able to spend time on the things she cares about without worrying about falling behind on marketing her business and keeping ahead of the competition. Her account grows and she even starts to get possible clients reaching out to her! Finally something is working! She feels so much more free to spend time on the things she cares about and trusts that Social Media is taken care of.

And so the business owner and social media marketer lived happily ever after!

Ok sure, social media marketing may not be some mystical, fairy tail solution.

However, I won’t say it doesn’t feel like that when you find the right professionals for you. This story of Sally and her thriving business may sound familiar to you, it certainly does to us. This is the story we hear time and time again from our clients before they started working with us.
